SSQ Natural Slate Range:
RIVERSTONE – Quarried at the SSQ slate quarry in Argentina. Exceptional, unfading medium GREY colour with a subtle Green tinge. It is similar to indigenous grey/green slates found in Cornwall in England, Killaloe in Ireland and Norwegian slates. Available in sized or RANDOMS and in 3 Grades – Ultra Grade 5-7mm, HEAVY Ultra 8-10mm thick. Sizes 50x25cm down to 30x20cm.
DOMIZ – HEAVY Grade 8mm thick. A deep blue/grey colour with Rustic appearance. Popular match for Ahinney and Binn Dubh slates on restoration projects in Ireland. Approved by English Heritage and Historic Scotland for Restoration and Conservation projects.
DEL CARMEN – The signature slate in the SSQ range. Quarried from vast slate deposits in the Carbrera mountains in Spain. Attractive Blue/black colour, similar to the Ffestiniog Welsh slates. It does not fade. Accepted by many conservation agencies for restoration projects or within conservation areas.
MATACOUTA – This slate is a deep Blue/black colourand has a traditional riven surface. The HEAVY Grade is particularly suited to conservation areas and restoration of Traditional slate roofs.
SARRIA – This Blue/black slate is quarried specially for SSQ in the Ourense area of North West Spain. It is flecked with mineral inclusions which tests have proven to be totally stable. The slate has a smooth appearance.
SILVERSTONE – A Blue/grey slate with a smooth surface.
